Career Development "Our People are our greatest asset ..." - we've all heard it, some of us have believed some of it. But what has it done for the individual struggling to make his mark, either in a large, impersonal organisation, or a small business so busy that no one has time to think about coaching and bringing on their staff?

What would be the result if you as an individual, could improve your understanding of what makes the boss (or your staff) tick or sick? If you could eliminate the wasted effort that poor communication and bloody-mindedness induces. If you could really feel that your efforts were helping the company (and being appreciated) and ensuring greater success and rewards in the future.

The answer is that you would enjoy your work more, you would be better at it and you might not have to take the risk of changing companies to reduce the tedium and feeling of hopelessness. That promotion/rise would get nearer that bit quicker.

Real career development means improving yourself and how you work with people above, below or level with you in the organisation. Not just swapping jobs, though of course that comes into it as well. But even then, making the most of yourself as a routine will improve your chances of winning the key position and succeeding in it.

We also would like to share your problems and frustrations, get suggestions from others and provide advice/encouragement from our experienced associates.
